Real Parties: Arabian Nights

  We’re beaming over this Indian-inspired/Arabian Nights 5th Birthday Soiree! Mattison’s Mom, Josclyn threw her the most ornate, detail-oriented bash (the cakes are amazing!!) complete with traditional Bollywood dancing lessons, hand-made stools crafted from fabric remnants and saris for each of her guests to wear. Lately, Mattison is a big fan of belly dancing and saris, so the theme fits her to a “T!”

  

  The gem lies in the detail for this party, though – from the chargers to the flashy centerpieces to the hanging fixtures over the dessert table… and the fabrics covering the floor pillows, backdrops and table runners are gorgeous. Josclyn said,

  “We incorporated genie bottles and traditional jewelry pieces like bendis for the forehead. I had two students from India that helped me with the party. Each guest decorated a genie bottle and was given a miniature tambourine, bangle bracelets, bendis, sari sashes and necklaces.”
