Pumpkin Patch 1st Birthday Party

  This past weekend we celebrated Avery’s 1st Birthday at our new home, “The Santucci Farms & Pumpkin Patch!” It was a huge success! About 40 of us gathered to sing “Happy Birthday” and Miss Avery (despite a few tears) had a pretty fun day!

  Decor was fun, simple and mostly DIY! Months ago, I stumbled across two fabrics (plus burlap) that I wanted to use for the party – an orange floral and an orange and white dot. They meshed perfectly! I covered the guest tables with burlap and orange floral overlays and did the reverse for the serving tables. I also borrowed the mason jars/drinking glasses from a dear friend, Lisa and tied the orange floral fabric into those with a paper straw to top them off! The plates and silverware were eco-friendly bamboo and added a “natural” touch to the tables while the centerpieces were simple mum arrangements set inside carved out pumpkins on an orange place mat. In addition to the mums, I wrapped soup cans in the orange dot fabric and stuck hay inside each vase with a wooden “1″ leaning up against them. The napkins were tied off with burlap to ultimately tie it all together!

  

  

  

  

  The dessert table was filled with tons of sweetness – from cupcakes to pumpkin spice cake to caramel apples to candy-covered pretzels. This was probably what I had the most fun with! I designed the cupcake toppers (A’s and 1′s) with orange dot paper and natural kraft paper to mimic the fabric and the burlap. I also used the same scheme for the spice cake jar toppers with a simple 2″ circle punch. The juice box covers (Jack-’o-lantern Juice) I designed at home and had printed locally – simple!

  

  

  

  

  

  From start to finish the party was a ball to design, plan and execute and given the time of year, I had loads of options for fall decor to carry out the “pumpkin” motif! Thanks to everyone who made Avery’s big day a special one!
