Today was one of those days. The wrong side of the bed got some serious face time from the kids. The to-do list was so long that enough hours in the year didn’t exist to complete it. Incomplete projects (and blog posts) sit… and sit. Bombs have exploded in my house. But days like today remind me of how grateful I should be… and at 7pm I had a moment.
Chaos had officially hit. Spilled milk all over the floor. Dishes piled high. Johnny using my favorite candlestick as a “leaf blower.” All of the light bulbs burnt out at once. And then there was Avery… sitting in the middle of my kitchen floor with a dirty diaper, digging through my paper drawer, wearing big brother’s old PJs because none of hers were clean. She was happy to be alive… happy to be in my presence. It was then that I decided that no matter how crazy life seems or how messy my house is, I am fortunate enough to have great friends, a sweet husband who actually likes leftovers, beautiful kids (even in their glory) and a growing business to inspire me everyday. Today was just one of those days… chalk it up to craziness, thank God and smile.
