We’re so excited to be featured today for our first time on Oh So Beautiful Paper, Nole Garey’s daily love letter to amazing invitations and paper goodies. When Emily Ley asked me to calligraph invitations for her son Brady’s first birthday ‘Southern Picnic’ themed party, I was more than thrilled to help out. She assembled a truly talented team to execute these incredible personal and unique invitations perfect for her sweet southern soiree. Check out all the details of the laser-cut wood silhouette invitations complete with individual bow ties for guests to bring to the party set in gingham lined boxes with vintage stamps and angled gold calligraphed addresses. To read Emily’s own recap of the invitation suite – check out her blog here!

Thanks to Emily and the amazing girls who put these together!

A “Preppy Plaid” St. Patrick’s Day + FREE Printables

To me, St. Patrick’s Day is a “sleeper” holiday. It’s one that typically doesn’t get as much attention from the planning standpoint, but one that inevitably ends up being tons of fun! This year, we decided to get a head start on the favorite Irish holiday by creating a fun (and FREE!!) classic printable collection that easily coordinates with linens and serve ware. Plaid is just about as classic as it gets. And it gives this dessert table a preppy feel that was fun to run and play with. The menu included the following:

* Lime green individual jello-’s in footed, glass dessert dishes complete with a bow-tie and a printable charms (no pinch!)
* Extra large chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with printable cupcake wrappers
* “Appletini” Shots, a.k.a “Liquid Gold” with printable drink flags (recipe below)
* Chocolate-chip cookies, a.k.a. “St. Patty’s Sweets” with food tent card (two additional food tents also available)
* Beer, a.k.a “Lucky Charm” with printable bottleneck labels and printable round bottle labels

A huge thanks to Jeff from Hemmerlein Photography  for the (always) amazing photography!

{DECOR} The backdrop was created out of alternating strips of burlap and green & white floral fabric. The table was an old, large rustic trunk I found at an estate sale. Other decor included a large wrought iron vase filled with neutral-colored hydrangeas, green beads and a glittered top hat, as well as a gold geometric-patterned decorative plate on an easel. The cupcakes, shots and cookies were served on tiered dessert stands from Crate & Barrel.

“Appletini” Shots
* 2 oz Michael Collins Irish Whiskey
* 1 oz Sour Apple Schapps
* 2 oz White Cranberry Juice
